“I am a highly enthusiastic, creative and professional individual with the ability to turn around expertly written, original content for print and the web under extremely tight deadlines.”
That’s what the CV says but I’ve always found personal profiles difficult to sum up in just a few lines. To expand, I’m a journalist and writer with over ten years of experience, putting words to paper both physically and digitally for global brands, which include The Sunday Times, AOL, ZOO, ShortList & Stylist, Stuff, Metro and many more.
I’m currently a regular contributor to both The Sun on Sunday and Sunday Times Driving.co.uk, where I write about the latest and hottest vehicles. Regular readers of Metro will likely see my name pop up in Friday’s Connect section, as I review the latest smartphone apps and test the hottest tech. Or, if you’re obsessed with online, you can head to T3 and Stuff, where you can read my, erm, stuff.
You can also find me on a train heading for London, where I’m a regular at various agencies, creating content for Volvo, AEG and others, as well as acting as a consultant for eBay Motors and more.
Previous full-time roles have seen me edit busy entertainment sections, plan and launch automotive websites and oversee a bustling creative solutions department for arguably the UK’s most successful lifestyle magazines.
In that time I have been shouted at by editors, almost stranded in Madrid thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo and locked away in a Latvian prison for 24-hours (it was for a feature, I promise) but copy has always been filed on time and to the highest standards.
The past few years have been spent specialising in the automotive industry, where I have gained a sizeable contacts book, but I can also be found contributing to a number of men’s lifestyle and technology outlets, covering everything from hot gadgets to the best carbon road bikes for cycling enthusiasts.
I am also a firm believer in multimedia and the importance of the modern journalist being able to understand video, the web and photography. That’s why I have invested many tiring years learning various CMS systems (WordPress, Escenic, Blogsmith, AMP), brushing up on basic video skills, purchasing good quality photographic equipment and undergoing basic Photoshop, InDesign and HTML training.
If that all sounds about right, please get in touch via the Contact me page. I’d love to hear from you. Or, take a look at previous work on my Portfolio page.
